Welcome to My District 2 Weekly Brief: Amanda Sovago-Royal, Candidate for Hamilton County Commission

Amanda Sovago-Royal, Candidate for Hamilton County Commission - District 2

Hello! If you’re here, thank you. One of the biggest reasons I decided to run for Hamilton County Commission is simple: most people don’t know what’s happening until it’s already happened.

  • County Commission meetings

  • School Board decisions

  • Rezoning requests

  • Budget conversations

Decisions impact our roads, our schools, our property, our taxes, and our quality of life — but unless you’re digging through PDFs or attending evening meetings regularly, it’s hard to stay informed. So I’m changing that.

Why I’m Starting This Weekly Blog

Each week, I will:

  • Break down the upcoming County Commission agenda in plain languag

  • Highlight District 2–specific school board discussions

  • Share important public meeting dates

  • Explain how certain decisions connect to infrastructure, school capacity, and responsible growth

  • Occasionally share personal reflections so you know the person behind the campaign

No drama.

No spin.

No fear tactics.

Just clarity, because transparency shouldn’t feel complicated.

What You Can Expect

When I review an agenda, I won’t just repeat what it says — I’ll explain:

  • What it means

  • Who it affects

  • Why it matters to District 2

  • What questions I think should be asked

Whether you live in Signal Mountain, Walden, Red Bank, Falling Water, Fairmount, Mountain Creek, Middle Valley, Northwoods (Hixson), or Mowbray — you deserve to understand what’s happening before decisions are finalized.

Smart growth requires informed residents.

Properly funded schools require engaged communities.

Clear communication requires consistency — not just during election season, but always.

Why This Matters

  • We can disagree politically and still agree on this:

  • The people deserve to know what’s being decided in their name.

  • This blog isn’t about campaigning every week.

  • It’s about modeling the kind of leadership I believe District 2 deserves — accessible, prepared, and proactive.

  • I want you to feel confident that someone is reading the documents, asking questions, and thinking ahead.

I also want you to feel comfortable reaching out.

Let’s Do This Together

If there’s something you want explained — tell me.If you’re attending a meeting — let me know.If you see something happening in your community — share it.

This is not a one-way broadcast. It’s a dialogue.

Thank you for being here.Thank you for caring. And thank you for staying informed.
